Junior Rugby
This year has proved extremely successful for our junior rugby team. Under the careful guidance of Mr. Craven with the assistance of Mr. Lyons the team have gone from strength to strength with a string of impressive victories.
It all started well before Christmas when they came up against a resilient Cill Dara side from Dublin who put in a tough performance. However, in the end, the boys came through with tries from Barry O'Brien, Kyle Murphy, Robbie Murphy and Conor Martin.
Then, in a home match, they faced Portmarnock who proved to be worthy opponents. The match was very even until the later stages when the Marist pulled away with great tries from Gavin Gormley and Barry O'Brien.
The boys have a Leinster final to look forward to in the next few weeks, which is to be played in Donnybrook and hopefully the team can win the cup and bring it back to Dundalk.
Meanwhile in the local league, the boys have started very well with a convincing win over the De La Salle College and they are hoping to continue their good form against the C.B.S. Go on the Marist!!
