Transition Year Projects
The TY students get involved in numerous projects in the course of their studies.
A very popular program is 'Schools Across Borders'. This project is unique because it is the only project of its kind linking up Israeli and Palestinian schools with a third country.
There are 16 schools involved on the island of Ireland - 10 from Dublin, 1 in Carlow, 4 in Belfast and ourselves. Of the Belfast schools, two represent the Catholic/Nationalist communities and two represent the Protestant/Unionist communities.
In Jerusalem, three co-ed Israeli schools are involved in the project; in Hebron, in the West Bank, six Palestinian schools are involved - three boys' schools and three girls' schools. There are video presentations, posters and written messages from the Israeli and Palestinian students.

This is an integral part of the TY programme. Students set up a business and develop or promote goods or services. Business Plans and Reports are completed and a Trade Fair takes place around Christmas time each year.
For more details, visit the Student Enterprise website or The Junior Achievement website.
This programme is very well-received each year by students.
